Sabjilar is a renowned group of Khakass artists and performers. Formed in Khakassia in 1996, Sabjilar means "Messengers". In the formation of this group, the best performers of the young generation of Khakass musicians have been gathered together to present traditional Khakass music to the rest of the world. Sabjilar is composed of young talented Khakass musicians, including the best female singer, which is still quite uncommon in Khakassia. All songs of Sabjilar are in traditional Khakass language. For their performances, the members of Sabjilar make use of instruments such as the "komus", a kind of lute with two strings, the "yh", a violin with two strings and a trapezoid harmonic soundbox, the "chatkhan", a flute, and the "dungur", a rattle drum used by the shamans in their rites. All of the singing techniques and musical instruments mastered by Sergey Charkov one of members are traditional and culturally unique, as is the music they perform. As members of the world-renowned folk music group Sabjilar, the all beneficiaries are well-rounded musicians who also posse's unique personal specialties of there own? They have conducted numerous public performances and workshops in Germany, Italy, Poland, Holland, Norway, Finland, England, USA,Japan,Switzerland.Following are brief outlines of each beneficiary's credentials and qualifications in performing traditional Khakass music:

1. Anna Burnakova :
vocals, khobrakh (shepherd's flute from the steppe), timir khomys (mouth harp), various percussion instruments, including the tuur (shaman's drum). Anna participated in the First International Khakass Folk Music Competition in Abakan, Republic of Khakassia in 1995. At that time, she won Special Prize as best female singer. Since her joining Sabjilar in year 2000 she has greatly contributed to the group's success in presenting the Khakassian music to the public, which was awarded major prizes as listed above.





2. Sergey Charkov :
2 styles of khay, chatkhan (12-stringed zither), yykh (2-stringed horse fiddle), syylas (flute from the taiga).
Sergey the one of founders "Sabjilar" folk group. Sergey Charkov toured in Japan, Taiwan, Poland, Norway, England,USA,Switzerland. He play as musician instrumentalist with very popular musicians. One of youngest throat singers of Khakassia. He made all music instruments for Sabjilar and for another folk groups of Siberia.









3. Vyatcheslav Kuchenov :
3 styles of khay, chatkhan, khomys (3-stringed plucked instrument), müüs yykh (horn fiddle).
Slava Kuchenov the one of founders "Sabjilar" folk group. Because of the highly uniqueness of the Khakassian music, Slava Kuchenov headed the ensemble in the performing tour of Japan, Taiwan, Poland,Norway, Finland, England,USA, Switzerland. He is very talented player at all traditional Khakass music instruments. One of youngest throat singer of Khakassia , one of best story teller of Russia. Mr Kuchenov also best sculpture of Khakassia. Because of his outstanding folk artistic expertise,Slava Kuchenov has been awarded many major prizes including "Best Storyteller", Special Prize at the International Symposium of Throat Singing in Tuva, 1998; "Best Sculptor in Siberia Award," 1997.
